6 days Machame route The Machame Route is a popular trekking route on Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. The standard duration for the Machame Route is 6 days.
Day 1: From Moshi or Arusha to Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Valley
Day 4: Bafaru Camp to Barranco Camp
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Summit, down to Mweka Camp
Day 6: Mweka Gate to Arusha or Moshi
Leaving from Arusha, you should begin your trek at the Machame Gate, where you can register. Spend roughly four to five hours hiking through the verdant highland forest. After arriving, spend the night in Machame Camp. At 3,000 meters above sea level, there is a camp (9,842 feet).
Continue your five to six-hour journey through the forest and onto the heathland. Reach Shira Camp, which is situated at an elevation of 3,840 meters, by crossing the Shira Plateau (12,597 feet).
It will take 4 to 5 hours to hike from Shira Camp to the Lava Tower. continue to Barranco Camp, which is 3,960 meters above sea level (13,000 feet).
The Great Barranco Wall can be climbed in two to three hours. Continue on to the Karanga Valley, where you will eventually arrive at the 4,000-meter-high Karanga Camp (13,123 feet).
After leaving Karanga Camp, it will take 4 to 5 hours to climb to Barafu Camp. Your last camp before trying the summit will be at 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) altitude, known as Barafu Camp.
Start your eight to ten-hour ascent, which will culminate in the peak. Reach the Uhuru Peak peak, Kilimanjaro's highest point, which is situated at a height of 5,895 meters (19,341 feet). The journey to Mweka Camp will take 4 to 6 hours. Your last tent for the hike will be in Mweka Camp, which is 3,100 meters (10,171 feet) above sea level. The transportation will return you to Arusha or Moshi after you reach the mountain's foot.
